Welcome to my blog! I think you can get what it's all about from the title. But to specify... This is a forum to blog about things that actually interest and matter to ME and to like minded assholes, psychos, comedians, douchebags, sadists, jerks, jacka$$es, filanderers, perverts, creepers, ninjas, asians, americans, asian-americans, conspirasizers, comedians, idiots, savants, idiot-savants, a$$hats, $hitheads, shark biters, mother f*ckers, geniuses, adventurers, trifflers and the like. Enjoy!
This site has such a great concept behind it. It basically takes photos, from as far back as the 1840's, and imposes them on the current day sites through google maps. So a picture, any picture taken at anytime, can be posted onto the site (by anyone. Yes, you included!) and can be matched to the exact location that the photo was taken. You can also see any other Historypin photos and their stories that others leave. This is such a great tool to share photography, as well as history together in one great package.
Watch this video they posted on Youtube that explains the basic concept
Historypin is a digital time machine that creates a new way for the world to see and share history. It was created by We Are What We Do, in partnership with Google.
The NFL is set to start today with the defending Super Bowl champs the New Orleans Saints set to square-off against the Minnesota Vikings. Allow me to start off by saying that there was no way that Brett Favre wasn't going to play this year. Although he did have a really good year last year, I think that he came back simply because he is an ego-maniac! What other player has continually held their whole team hostage while "Trying to figure out their next move" Well.... besides maybe Lebron James? No one. It's this crazy fascination that the NFL has with QB's. He's able to get away with it... But I digress, that's whole other argument for another time.
Let's get to some predictions. Obviously, only 6 teams make the playoffs out of each conference. So let's start with the NFC:
NFC WEST: This division is probably the weakest division in football and for good reason.
The Rams are obviously in rebuild mode with their new QB Bradford, So I'm not expecting much from them. My predicted 2010 record, 3-13.
The Seahawks were the class of this division a few years back. Even making it to the superbowl in 2006. But right now I think they are heading in the wrong direction with former USC head coach Pete Carroll. He went as far as cutting a very productive WR in T.J. Houshmanzadeh in favor of untested former 1st rounder Mike Williams formerly of USC. He seems to be picking up all the former Trojans that played under him and trying, for some odd reason to resurrect their careers. So I'm really not expecting much of them this year either. My predicted 2010 record, 5-11.
The Cardinals have been dominating this division for the last few years, but this is the year that I think they take a step back. After losing QB Kurt Warner to retirement, Anquan Boldin in trade to the Ravens and MLB Karlos Dansby I don't think that they have the talent or the leadership to stay atop the division or even take a wild card spot in the playoffs. My predicted 2010 record, 7-9.
That Leads us to the San Francisco 49ers. I am personally very high on this team this year. The two things that I look at when I look for a Super Bowl contender are an above average Run Game and a lights out Defense. It's been proven in the past that a team can win it with these two traits in their favor even if they have an average/below average QB. i.e. 2001 Ravens w/ Dilfer, 2003 Bucs w/ Johnson and 2008 Giants w/ Eli Manning. They have the tools and the talent to get them far into the playoffs. The one thing that they do lack though is the experience and veteran leadership to get them farther. My predicted 2010 record, 11-5.
NFC SOUTH: This division is where the Super Bowl Champs reside. Could they be staring down a repeat?
Lets start off with the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Josh Johnson at QB. Ok, next. My predicted 2010 record, 3-13.
Now let's go to the Carolina Panthers. Matt Moore at QB. Double next. My predicted 2010 record, 4-12.
The Atlanta Falcons... Let's see Good defense, good young QB, good power run game. The one thing that this team hinges on is the running of RB Michael "the burner" Turner. Two years ago The Burner tore up the league and in turn made rookie QB Matt Ryan look really good. Last year The Burner was injured and Matt Ryan took a step back. For this team to get back to the playoffs Turner needs to stay healthy and QB Ryan has to step up into being a game changer, instead of a game manager. My predicted 2010 record, 10-6
Now, onto the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints! I really like this teams chances at repeating as Super Bowl Champs. They haven't showed any reason to doubt that they can. They've brought back basically the same team from last year and they still have Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees (who I believe is arguably the best QB in the league) at the helm. Let's be honest about this team... they are an offense first team. With all the weapons that they have at their disposal like Thomas, Bush, Colston, Meachem, Henderson, Shockey and Brees this team can simply outscore anyone. But now that their Defense is starting to come online, as we saw in their run to the Super Bowl last year, now that they have both sides of the ball in sync they are going to be a real hard team to beat! My predicted 2010 record, 12-4. Cause they'll have the division wrapped up by week 14.
NFC NORTH: In my opinion this is going to be the strongest division in football. I think there's going to be a lot of parity in this division.
Let's start with the Chicago Bears. They have a lot going for them this year. New offensive coordinator Mike Martz is bringing his high flying "greatest show on turf" offense to the windy city. On the defense they've brought in perennial Pro Bowler Julius Peppers to their D-line. But that still doesn't change the fact that Jay Cutler is their QB. The Guy is a pick-six waiting to happen and now with Martz in town he's going to be throwing the ball even more. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. BUT If Martz can mold him the same way he did Kurt Warner than this could be a different story. But as it stands I'm tempering my expectations for this team. My predicted 2010 record, 8-8.
The Detroit Lions: I know this is football faux-paus but I like the Lions this year. They put together a good complement to their existing team (WR MEGATRON, QB Stafford) in the off-season through free-agency, (WR Nate Burleson, DE Vanden Bosch) and mainly through the draft (DT Ndamukong Suh, RB Jahvid Best) I think that this team is going to surprise a lot of people and at the very least they won't be a walk over for any team in the NFL. My predicted 2010 record, 8-8.
The Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers has really taken over this team. They have the right mix of young players and old veterans that can lead them into the Promised land. This is a team that had the NFC's best defense a year ago. The only thing that scares me is that this team has a really brutal schedule. They play the NFC EAST and AFC EAST and on top of that the play their own tough division twice and also the 49ers and Falcons to round it out. Very tough so.... My predicted 2010 record, 10-6
Minnesota Vikings: With all the talk about whether or not Favre would come back. What got lost in the shuffle was all the losses that this team has suffered in the off-season. They lost lead WR Sidney Rice due to injury, WR Percy Harvin isn't at full speed with Migraines and RB Chester Taylor is with a division rival. That's alot of offensive weapons that they have not found replacements for. Their Defense if off-course going to be stout. But what worries me again like the Packers they also have a brutal schedule but instead of the 49ers and Falcons, being the division champs the Vikes get the Arizona Cardinals and the super bowl champion Saints in the first game of the season. NFC NORTH: In my opinion this is going to be the strongest division in football. I think there's going to be a lot of parity in this division. My predicted 2010 record, 10-6.
NFC EAST most consider this division to be the strongest in the NFL but I'm not sold :
Let's start with the Redskins. What is there to say about the skins? I think that McNabb is for sure an upgrade at QB over Campbell. But what is going to be the biggest clue to this team's success is how well both the O-line and D-line play. It'll be interesting to see if the O-line can play well under new Head Coach Mike Shanahan's zone blocking scheme, but well see once the season starts. The D-line's biggest question is the grossly overpaid D-lineman Albert Haynesworth. If he's able to get in line and be a team player he can be a real force! This being said I like their chances this year, they were a decent team last year and they added enough on Offense and Defense that they'll be in the hunt for the playoffs possibly through wild card or dare I say by winning the division... My predicted 2010 record, 10-6.
New York Giants: This team has won the super bowl just 2-3 years ago and the team is still basically intact from that super bowl run. I just don't see them being a force this year. Quick name a big name playmaker on their Offense... now a big time player on their Defense... exactly. I can name a few people on their Defense but on offense I don;t think they have a enough to get it done. My predicted 2010 record, 7-9
The Philadelphia Eagles I think are going to take the biggest step back this year in this division. I am not sold at all on QB Kevin Kolb. I think that this team will sorely regret trading QB Donovan McNabb, especially to a division rival in the Redskins. They are going to have to see him 2 times in the year and I'll guarantee you that he'll be coming for blood! With all of that being said My predicted 2010 record, 6-10.
The Dallas Cowboys AKA America's Team... Who the Fuck came up with that? Americas Team? Fuck that! hahaha! The Cowboys are the class of this division. They have arguably the most talented team in the league on both sides of the ball. With players like OLB DeMarcus Ware, QB Romo, WR Austin, TE Witten and the three good-decent RB's they have. They have the talent and experience on both sides of the ball and now they just have to put it all together in a long run to a Championship. My predicted 2010 record, 12-4.
That leaves us with the playoff teams being:
Division Winners:
San Francisco 49ers
New Orleans Saints
Green Bay Packers/Minnesota Vikings (one or the other)
Dallas Cowboys
Wild-card spots:
Green Bay Packers/Minnesota Vikings (one or the other)
Atlanta Falcons or Washington Redskins
Regardless who's in the mix I see it coming down to New Orleans and Dallas. With Dallas getting the edge in my book because their overall talent level is just that much better. Although I hate to bet against the Super Bowl Champion Saints....
MY PICK FOR THE NFC CHAMPIONS IS THE DALLAS COWBOYS!
Stay tuned cause I will be previewing the AFC and then picking my winner for the Super Bowl....
With the football season starting today I thought I'd feature this T.V. show on FX network that's all about Fantasy Football. Well, fantasy football and weird ass guys that sing creepy birthday songs to kids. And since the original video on youtube from the show doesn't allow embedding heres the live version of the song. lol.
This shit is hilarious to me. I don't know why.... it just is. This dude/chick is all on the news and interwebs with his hair-did and shit.... hahahahahaha!
Great video! Very, very simple concept but done well. Straight and to the point like "Fuck You, OOO, OOO, OOOO!" I love Cee-Lo's voice and the lyrics of the song just make me crack-up when I hear them. My favorite lyrics from the whole song are, "Oh, shit she's a gold digger... Well, just thought you should know nigga." hahahaha CLASSIC!
I am a really, really big fan of Zombie movies & books. Some of my favorites movies are 28 Days Later and the Dawn of the Dead(remake) and some of my favorite books are The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z and The Rising. So I am soooooooo excited about this upcoming show.
Now, finally, there is going to be a T.V. series based solely on ZOMBIES! This series is set to premiere on October 31,2010 at 10pm/9C on AMC... Yes folks, on Halloween day! In all honesty they couldn't have picked a better day to premiere such a show.
Now, before you write this show off as a stupid special effects whore-athon, just know that there are a lot of real big chops behind this show. First off, if you didn't know this is an adaptation from a long running Image comics, comic book series of the same name. The writer and creator Robert Kirkman and his team have just won the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series at the San Diego Comic Convention. The Eisner awards are kind of like the Emmy's or Grammy's for Comic books. Secondly, Director Frank Daramont is set to helm this project as writer, director and executive producer. If you don't know the name Daramont then maybe you've seen some of his work. Namely The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Also, Charles H. Eglee is attached as a writer and executive producer. He was a producer on films like Terminator and Aliens. With those kind of names and pedigrees attached to the show the sky's the limit.
Check out the trailer now which debuted at Comic-Con 2010 and is now finally released for public viewing.
I know my birthday is a few months away (November 26) but if anyone wants to get me a gift, just know that I love shoes! and I am size 12! hahahaha!
Here's a few shoes for the shoe heads out there. Just some shoes I personally would rock:
Air Royal Mid VT
Dark Grey/Dark Grey-Stlth-Vlt
Check these out here: Sneakers n Stuff - Air Royal Mid VT
I love the colorway and the wool upper on this sneaker and the neon shoelaces really make it POP!
This is the new Chuck Taylor All Star Cup. It's A new perspective on classic Chucks. Premium leather upper features timeless tones. Clean toe is durable and recognizable, no matter where you go.
Check these out on Converse's site here: Converse.com
The film is independently produced by the Strause brothers, whose company Hydraulx provided visual effects for films like Avatar, Iron Man 2, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and 300.
Unfortunately, they are possibly gonna be in a legal battle over this movie with SONY pictures. Read this: 'Skyline' duo face legal battle with Sony In short, SONY says that the Strause Bros. and their company Hyraulx because 'Skyline" and the upcoming Sony movie 'Battle: Los Angeles' are too similar. Sony apparently only realised the similarities between the movies when they saw theSkyline trailer at Comic-Con the day after they had debuted footage fromBattle LA.
Still, the movie Skyline looks like a good Alien-invasion movie and I'm actually looking forward to seeing it. Maybe, on DVD or Blu-Ray. LOL!
Sucker Punch is an upcoming fantasy drama movie written anddirectedby Zack Snyder (who once brought us 300 amd watchmen). The film is described as Alice in Wonderland with machine guns. The cast includes EmilyBrowning,Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac, and Scott Glenn. The movie will be released on March 25, 2011 (in IMAX and conventional theaters).
From an interview that I saw from Zack Snyder he said, ...anything that he thought was cool, he put in the movie. Can't argue with him on that... Hot babes with guns, Dragons, sword fights with giant samurai, a machine gun toting robot with a rabbit's face painted on it and did I mention hot babes with guns!!!
Now, I know this is from a few years back (2007) but in my book this is a classic! I mean c'mon, he came out to the Chicago Bulls intro.... lol! Kells has got hits for days... You don't really realize it until he's doing a live show and you then realize that you know the words to almost all of the songs he's singing.
I looked this video up on the interwebs cause for some odd reason whenever I go to my good friend Fred's house I always get shit-housed drunk and beg him to put this video on the T.V. so I can party and then KTFO whilst watching this on his couch! hahaha! Good times! Good times, just like this whole live set by the self proclaimed Pied-Piper of R&B.
It's that time of year again folks! That's right the San Diego Comic-Con is back. It's a week full of comics, movies, video games, art, t.v., nerds, geeks and costumed weirdos! To be honest, nowadays it's more of a Pop Culture Convention than it is a Comic Convention. With the major studios and T.V. networks taking over the show floor at comic-con it's no surprise that Comic-Con International could be bolting for the L.A. area when their contract goes up in 2012 w/ the San Diego Convention Center. But we don't have to worry about that right.... cause the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012. Didn't you watch the movie?! hahaha!
I will be there for all 5 days going through the masses of un-bathed comic geeks looking for celebrities, free stuff and swag to sell on EBay! lol! I'm gonna try to get some pictures of the madness and post some up here. I'm only gonna take pictures of things that I wanna see though... Hot Chicks in CosPlay :
I have no idea what she's dressed as.... but really, does it matter?
Olivia Munn as Princess Leia
You gotta love how these broads take the most innocent things and Ho them up! It's like Halloween!
Butter face. But have you ever in your life seen a piece of fabric that looks like it just wants to give up??? BTW, she's smuggling raisins! hahahah!
Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Marky Mark and The Rock. C'mon now! This movie is a hit already with that cast. That whole 'Bad cop, Bad cop' bit... Hilarious!!! I haven't watched a movie in theatres in a long ass time. that might change cause I'm looking forward to this movie!
What is CoolVibe.com? I'll allow them to tell you in their own words about the site:
A digital art magazine showcasing digital art from all over the web (and everywhere else), be it science fiction, fantasy, illustrations, matte paintings, vector art, 3D renders and virtually everything else.
Best of all, we always show it in glorious HD resolution, which is the main reason for the minimalist design of the site — no fancy widgets (not even a sidebar!). It’s all about the content.
With the San Diego Comic-Con coming up in less than a week, I found this site for all you nerdy, geeky, sci-fi, fantasy, video game and art loving people out there. The site is a showcase for digital art from all over the interwebs. The site contains a lot of great art that you can easily turn into a great looking wallpaper for your computer. They also have a lot of concept art like 3-D art from current and future movies.
The size and resolution of the art samples pictured on this blog don't do the artwork justice. You have to go to the site and check it out for yourself to get the full effect of the content in HD resolution.
Here's a sample of some the art you'll find on the site:
Darth Vader
Gears of War 3
Mirror's Edge
Digital Painting of Pene Menn
If you don't want to go scouring through the whole site looking for good stuff Here's a few links of some of my favorite images, art and wallpapers (other than the already pictured artwork above) from the site:
You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.
A story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.
The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, Adventureland) and Justin Timberlake. The trailer looks good.
I especially like the cover of Radiohead's song Creep.
Not much to say, just that Social Networks seem to be a really, really big means of communication nowadays. Like 10-15 years ago, who would have thought that people would communicate more with their friends, family and even strangers more through social networks than in person or on the phone? 20 years ago we didn't even have the internet! The internet and technology in general has become such an important part of everyones lives that it's not surprising to me. I honestly interact with most of my friends more through Facebook and social networking sites than anywhere else. Sad, but true. It's a social commentary on where technology is taking us to in the future.... SKYNET! hahahahaha! LOL!
Music videos are a dying art. Yes, an art! In the 80's and 90's music videos were a way for music artists to portray their music onto a live canvas. I personally love watching a great music video. When you watch a great music video you actually get an insight into the thought, emotion, passion and genius that these artists put forth into making not only the video but also the song itself. Since media outlets like MTV, VH1 and the like are no longer strictly about music videos I think that the ART of the music video has now died. So, I'll be blogging some Music Video Flashbacks every now and then just to remind everyone of not only some great music, but some great music videos from the past. Enjoy!
I know this video isn't that old but it is still a West Coast classic in my book! It's got WC and Snoop C-Walking. Nate Dogg sangin' the hooks and even a cameo from Ice Cube!
C'mon now! Basic video premise: The Ghetto Olympics. Which includes the following events:
For those of you not in the know about Sizzurp AKA Lean, Syrup, Purple Drank, Playa Potion, Purple Stuff it's not just a song by Three 6 Mafia. Here's a ESPN Mini-Doc about Sizzurp and Pro Sports.
Although the use of Sizzurp is prevalent in the South (ie Texas) I don't think it's really caught on as a 'drug of choice' around the nation. If anything this Mini-Doc has just made Sizzurp a curiosity by putting it on a national (ESPN) spotlight. They showed me that I can go on Youtube.com and find a video on how to make Sizzurp. What's crazy is that you can make Sizzurp with stuff that you can probably find in your medicine cabinet. Just regular cough syrup that contains Codeine. Throw in some Sprite and Jolly Ranchers and you're good.
They mention a few pro-athletes that are suspected of doing Sizzurp but in all actuality none of them have been charged and/or their cases are still pending. One of the only pro athletes that has been charged with a Sizzurp related crime is the late Terence Kiel who played for the Chargers. He was charged with smuggling codeine across state lines but later died of allegedly driving under the influence.
I'm not really sure what this mini-doc hoped to bring to light but if they were trying to highlight that Sizzurp is something that could ruin lives, then all they would have to do is mention the late, great Pimp C of UGK. Pimp C died of an apparent Sizzurp overdose a few years ago. Looking forward to some kind of follow up story on this but I doubt there will be one.
Addendum: Just heard Jamarcus Russell recently got fingered for alledgedly possesion of a controlled substance. The substance being Codeine syrup. That guy is trying to supplant Ryan Leaf as the Biggest Bust EVER!!! hahahaha!

I like to highlight my favorite and most frequented websites every now and then. Here is one of them.
The Daily Motivatoris a brief motivational message that is published each Monday through Saturday on the web and by e-mail. Each daily message is about 200 words long and can easily be read in a minute or two.
Here's the link to the Daily motivator that doubles as a thought of the day and summary for the daily message.
I stumbled upon this site after following P. Diddy on Twitter. Yeah, I know lame way to find out about something. But in all honesty the only reason I even started a Twitter account was because of Diddy. Long story short, maybe a year or two ago my friends asked if I had a Twitter.
I said, "No I don't. The only way I'll sign up for Twitter is if P. Diddy has a Twitter account."
I just threw out Diddy's name cause I didn't know about Twitter and I didn't want to bother with making an account to a site that would probably fade from existence in a few months (boy was I wrong). I figured why would Diddy have a Twitter? Who knew? That Diddy was the celebrity with probably the most followers and someone who used it on a daily basis. So my friends checked if he had a Twitter and low and behold he did. And the rest is history.
OK, back to The Daily Motivator.
Diddy would occasionally post some quotes that were very motivational and a lot of them seemed to hit home for me. They would be quoted from @ralphmarston . I then took a look at Mr. Marston's Twitter and then found my way to his website.
It really wasn't until lately that I've actually looked into the site The Daily Motivator and discovered how helpful a few motivational words can be for the psyche. Cause God knows I personally need some motivation in my life right now!
Just a quick tip. This service is a pay service $15 a year. BUT the website is NOT! So for you cheap/broke people out there, like myself, just go to the site and set it as a favorite on your browser and simply check it every morning. Very simple. No money involved and you get a motivational message every morning to start your day off right. Enjoy!
I was trollin' the interwebs and came across this funny ass Youtube channel. "Jersey Shore" meets "Jackass" is how they describe themselves. Basic premise: a Guido ass couple plays pranks on each other, boyfriend pranks girlfriend, girlfriend gets angry and attempts to one up said boyfriend and vice versa. All the while they are filming the pranks and showing how they set them up.
Some of the pranks seem kinda staged but it's all good, cause the chick is kinda hot and it's a plus that she has a sense of humor and likes to prank. The dude is a total Guido! And Guidos always (see Jersey Shore) make for stupid funny times.
Check out their latest prank. It involves pubes and fake mustaches, hilarity does indeed ensue! Enjoy!
So I've been on Craigslist a lot lately looking for a job, free shit and naked pictures of hot chicks and I've noticed that that place is full of fucking wacky ass characters! I've never really used the site before and it really is a helpful tool to get out information to the masses. But more importantly it is hours, upon hours of comedic genius! After trolling the site for awhile I found this...
Check out the link above. It basically wraps up all the funny ass posts into one "BEST OF" category and they're hand picked by the Craigslist community.
Here's just a sampling of the comedic genius from the 'Best of' Craigslist section:
A friend of mine and I have been having a long-standing argument about whose penis is larger. We've tried having our girlfriends confirm to the other the exact size, but neither one of us buy it. I don't want to see his penis and he doesn't want to see mine. I don't want my girlfriend looking at his penis and he doesn't was his looking at mine.
So... We just need a girl to look at both of our penises (individually) and then to both of our faces say which one is bigger. We can't pay much. $50.
Location: Vancouver
it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
Hilarious stuff! The best part about it is that theses dudes are so serious about this! The crazy part is that that's just a sampling of all the wacky over the top posts on the site. So, if ever you are bored and surfing the intrawebsnet just remember that Craigslist = Hours of laughs! Enjoy!
I've been saying this for awhile now but to reiterate... Fedor Emelianko is and has been overrated! To be clear I do think that Fedor is probably one of the best Heavyweights in the world and at a time was probably one of the, if not the best fighter in the world (in his Pride days circa 2003-2006). But he hasn't fought any serious top 10 heavyweights in the last 5 years. With his first ever MMA loss, his mystique of being undefeated and unbeatable is now gone. Kind of like When Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson.
I use this site whenever I miss a fight on PPV or if I want to replay the fight. The site usually gets the fights up pretty quickly after they happen live. You just have to keep checking until they are posted. Check it out!
Fedor seemed like a classy guy in defeat, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. But he kinda put himself in a bad situation rushing in not once, but twice into possible armbars He showed alot of heart trying to get out of that tight traingle/armbar but to no avail. Plus, anyone can get caught at anytime in MMA and it's not like Werdum is a slouch. Werdum is a BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) WORLD champion and chokes/submissions are his game. Werdum should get some praise for winning this fight cause it wasn't luck that he got that triangle/armbar on so tight. It was skill. So congrats Fabricio Werdum you just beat an MMA legend!

This is a two-for-one deal with some West Coast classics:
This is a fan made Batman short film by Filmmaker Aaron Schoenke that came out a few days ago. Now, before you scoff at this, bear in mind that this guy spent $27,000 dollars of his own money to make this shortfilm. Was it worth it? You be the judge...
Here is the synopsis from their dailymotion site:
When the Joker escapes from Arkham and murders the parents of a young boy, Batman recalls the pain of losing his own parents as a child. He is pushed past his limits to the point where his focus becomes revenge on all who stand in his way, including many of Gotham’s underworld. Finally, Batman is forced to look at the psychological profile of his own mind and accept the consequences of his life to find resolve.
IMO the short film was done very well. The thing that stands out about it is it's grityness. It's not like a studio movie, wherein the director has to please the studio execs and sugarcoat the whole story. I like the realism from this short film it's kinda like in the Nolan directed Batman Begins films, which I think are the best Batman films to date.
The scene locales look authentic and very well put together and they really set the right mood and atmosphere. The actor who played Batman did a good job portraying the Dark Knight (anyone's better than Christian Bale's voice change as the Batman), but the narrations seemed a bit off. Also, the voice overs seemed a little weird mainly with the Joker, Harley Quinn's scene in Arkham and in the bar fight scene. The storyline and action scenes seemed to work well within the movie. But the overall acting seemed a bit inadequate. Nonetheless, its a good watch if you are a Batman fan and have the free time cause it's about 30 mins long.
I'm not sure what to say about this trailer. I'm really big on Zombies and on the RE series of video games and I've played a majority of them starting with the 1st RE all the way up to the latest game RE5. With that being said the RE movies have gotten progressively worse over time. I actually liked the first one that came out. Cause it stayed close to the RE video games' storyline, but it also changed it up with the introduction of the character Alice, whom the next movies and this upcoming movie is based on.
I think maybe the 3D aspect of the film could be interesting. But it can also end up being horrible cause everyone is trying to make 3D movies now! With the big popularity the format has seen in the last year I think a lot of movies are gonna be getting rushed out in the 3D format and the overall quality is going to suffer and that's very unfortunate.
The trailer seems to show a lot of references to the video game Resident Evil 5. So at the very least they are keeping the story close to what the gamers are familiar with. It also helps that they have two hot chicks (Mila Jovavich, Ali Larter) in tight ass leather get-ups sporting big guns and fighting off zombies like crazy!
Hopefully, they don't fuck this one up. Check out the trailer for yourself...
Look, I'm all about rioting and anarchy for hometown love and representing where you are from but c'mon! The Lakers just repeated so it's not like they haven't won a championship before. On top of that the Lakers now have 15 championships! That's a great feat in and of itself. It's not like LA is a championship starved city. They have 10 NBA championships (5 of the Lakers championships were won in Minneapolis), 5 MLB championships and 2 Pro Football Championships (Raiders, Rams).
With all that being said... ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE!!! Act like you've won a damn ring before. It's not like they were in a drought, or it was a surprise come back from being down 0-3 games and then they won 4 games in a row (ala the 2004 Red Sox). If they did make a miraculous comeback of that sorts than a riot would be all good with me. BUT they didn't so it's just kinda overkill.
Now, don't get me wrong. Not even for a second! I am personally the biggest proponent for rioting in this modern day era. Like back in the day 1992 the Rodney King riots in LA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_Los_Angeles_riots. I understand that cause there was a lot of racial tensions and overtones involved within that situation. We can even go as far back as the Chicago Race Riot's of 1919 wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Race_Riot_of_1919. Wherein, people were rioting for real cultural and social reasons. But a riot for one of the most successful professional sports franchises in history, who just won the 2nd of back to back titles is ridiculous and just plain moronic, IMHO. Again, act like you've been there before!
With all of that being said, I can promise you that if my hometown Chargers or Padres ever win a world championship in their respective sports, YOU BEST BELIEVE THAT I AM GOING TO BE THE FIRST ONE RIOTING THE STREETS OF SAN DIEGO!!!! Believe that!!!! You can take that to the bank!!! Cause obviously, WE / I can't act like we've been there before..... because we haven't!!!
I already have my rioting emergency kit (contains: ski mask, gloves, gas mask, fireworks, steel toe boots, rocks, molotov cocktails etc) ready for the future or even for right now. Like this October should the Padres (who btw are playing pretty well right now) win a championship and/or for 2011 if the Chargers win one. Yes, wishful thinking but you can never be too prepared. And if anything I can use the kit for any possible robberies in the future. lol!
Now, before you call me a hypocrite and say that I'm just hating on the Lake Show (even though I clearly am haha), allow me to explain this. As I have stated before I am a big proponent of riots! But riots for a real cause or reason and if I am allowed to speak freely, I'm waiting for the right opportunity, cause, reason and/or championship to start a riot! Unlike L.A., San Diego is a championship starved city. We have no professional championships to boast and we have only gotten close on 2 occasions (1994 Chargers, 1984 Padres). If there is EVER a reason to RIOT it's when your home team has won the FIRST ever championship for your city! We get a free pass cause we cannot act like we've been there before! Cause we obviously have not!
As hypocritical as that sounds it just makes more sense. Think about it, if the Lakers win another one next year and the fans riot again it would be lame. It would just downplay the whole appeal of a riot. Riots would then become meaningless. It would be like after every "W" the fans are gonna go out and riot. hahaha! I'm all for riots, but you gotta pick and choose the right moments and not downplay such a unique and satisfying once in a lifetime event.
So here's looking forward to a future riot on the streets of San Diego. Hope to see you there! I'll be the one with a gas mask throwing molotov cocktails at poor unsuspecting bystanders, shielded riots cops and cops on horses!!! hahahahaha.(I'm just joking!) A man can dream can't he!
Enjoy!
I kind of stumbled upon this TV comedy series on accident. While watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand On demand one night I accidentally clicked on Party Down and just decided to go ahead and watch an episode. An episode turned into 2 episodes, 2 episodes turned into 3 episodes and the next thing I knew I had finished half the first season in one sitting.
The show is set in Los Angeles, CA and is about a catering company called Party Down Catering and its employees on the job. The hook of the storyline is that none of them enjoy being caterers and they all have bigger aspirations to become rich and famous actors, comedians and writers in Hollywood. All of them with the exception of the main character Henry who is played by Adam Scott (the asshole brother from Step Brothers):
Henry is a wannabe actor. He's apparently done some bit acting but his claim to fame is having been "that guy in the beer commercial. The one that says, "Are we having fun YET?'" Henry has reluctantly returned to Party Down where he worked years earlier. He is not happy working this job but can't find anything else. - IMDB.
With the catering job being their minimum wage way to pay the bills until they make it big. Their constant underacheiving, laziness, pranks, cussing and general disdain for their boss and job leads them into never-ending hilarious situations.(All of them except their eccentric and over the top success whore of a boss Played by Ken Marino who is the team leader who doesn't know how to lead anyone). Their catering company usually works with Hollywood stars and Hollywood parties. What makes it even harder for the aspiring Hollywood stars is that they are continually put in situations wherein they can try to excel their careers while they should actually be doing their job, catering.
I honestly haven't laughed out loud while watching a TV show in long time, as much as I have laughed while watching this show. The supporting cast of Martin Starr (the guy in knocked up who gets dared to grow out his beard) and Jane Lynch (the wacky over the top older lady in every Judd Apatow movie) is what sets the series into motion. There's also some guest spots by Ken Jeong (Leslie Chao from the Hangover), Jennifer Coolidge, Megan Mullaly and Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). The Main character Henry is contemplating quitting acting and trying to right his life. But in between his job, prospects, co-workers antics, budding relationship with a co-worker and his bosses never-ending carelessness he gets stuck in the middle of ridiculous sitiuations and hilarity usually ensues! The second season has already started so jump in and watch this smart, over the top, lofty, and hilarious comedy. Oh, yeah. Did I mention that the series is written and produced by the likes of Fred Savage (Kevin Arnold on The Wonder Years) and Paul "Slappa 'Da Bass" Rudd. If that ain't enough for you to watch this series I don't know what is. Well, they do cater a porn awards show and an orgy.... So.... Enjoy!
So it really is happening! Dr. Dre has been keeping us all in anticipation for years since his last album Chronic 2001. Rumors of the album Detox have been swirling around for 10 years and it's good to hear that the wheels are really in motion to make the album happen. I heard that Dre was being interviewed a while back and that he just threw out an invitation to Jay-Z to be apart of the album. Sounds like Jay obliged... take a listen:
The track is still a rough cut so I'm pretty sure they're gonna clean up the track but its good to hear those Dre beats again. The beat is a little spacey and its a short cut of the actual song, with no chorus, but I somehow think that Dre and Jay will find a way to make this track a hit. Hopefully, this is good enough proof that the long awaited and ever-delayed Detox album will be coming out this year. With all of the shitty hip-hop and rap that's been saturating the airwaves lately, I think an album of this caliber is long over due. There's one thing I know for sure... you ain't gonna have Dr. Dre doing some stupid ass dance or yelling some stupid catchy phrase for the masses. Hopefully, Dre's final album can bring us back to the heyday of hip-hop & rap!
Halo: Reach doesn't come out until September 9th, 2010. But Bungie released this trailer today at the E3 Convention in Los Angeles, CA. Here's what Bungie.net had to say about the trailer release:
"Going above and beyond is standard operating procedure for the Spartans of Noble Team, but even they weren’t prepared for Operation Uppercut. Backs against the wall and facing the full might of a merciless Covenant invasion force, Noble Six must rely on his unique skill set and his previous involvement in the UNSC’s top secret Sabre program to launch a last ditch surprise attack against the Covenant fleet in the last place they expect to be met by strong resistance.
Since you weren’t on hand to witness our trailer’s maiden voyage at this year’s E3, we brought back some footage so you can relive the launch sequence. Get prepped. You’re going in hot."
I played the beta on XBOX live about a month ago and the game played very well. I'm looking forward to this sorta prequel to the Halo 3 storyline. Hopefully, the game doesn't end up being way over-hyped like ODST was though. Looking forward to it!
UFC LIVE is coming to SD! I'm excited for this event coming to my hometown! The event was set to take place in Utah. But due to underwhelming ticket sales it was moved to the SD sports Arena. Their loss is our (SD's) gain! Although there aren't many really, really big names on the card there is still some good fights and good fighters to see. Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday June 19th @ 10 AM.
The main event is gonna be:
Jon "Bones" Jones Vs. Vladimir Matyushenko!
If you don't know who Jon Jones is yet... The dude is a stud! I think he's gonna be the Next Big Thing in the UFC. Check out the video below!
Other fights of note:
Mark "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" Munoz Vs. Yushin Okami - I'm personally routing for the fellow Filipino!
Joe "Daddy" Stevenson Vs. "The Fireball Kid" Takanori Gomi
-GOMI! Are you fucking kidding me! Gomi was sick when he was in Pride! The dude is an MMA legend!
Demarques "Darkness" Johnson Vs. Matt Riddle
-Good fight between up and coming fighters in the UFC.
I'm really looking forward to this event. Hopefully, I can score some tickets and see this thing live! Maybe, I'll see some of you there!
Microsoft showed off it's new incarnation of the XBOX 360 today at the E3 convention in Los Angeles, CA.
"The new box is crazy sexy in glossy black with touch-sensitive buttons, and Microsoft says it's "whisper quiet," with one large fan instead of two -- the new 45nm chipset undoubtedly generates less heat to begin with. On the features front, it's got integrated 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, five USB ports, and 250GB of storage..." -Engadget.com http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/14/slim-xbox-360-gets-official-at-299-shipping-today-looks-angul/
Apparently they're ready to ship NOW! I like that they added WiFi directly to the box and that they FINALLY decided to address the Red Ring of Death issue. I don't know if this is enough to just blindly buy one though. Mainly because the features that they added or addressed, I've had to pay up the ass for already (wireless connector, RRoD) and no amount of shiny new gloss and sleek curves is gonna make me spend $300 for something that I already have.
On another note Microsoft also announced that "Project Natal" is now officially called "Kinect".
"No Controllers. Just you.
Kinect brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways, with full body play. Arms, legs, feet, and hands, with Kinect there are no controllers, just you. It’s so natural, so intuitive that technology evaporates, letting the natural magic in all of us shine through. All you need to do is jump in." -xbox.com
This looks interesting in that it is body recognition software to play XBOX 360 games and kinect navigation as well as xbox voice command. Here's a video from E3 that I found on Youtube. Take a look and tell me what you think.
