R. Kelly Live: The light It up Tour

Now, I know this is from a few years back (2007) but in my book this is a classic! I mean c'mon, he came out to the Chicago Bulls intro.... lol! Kells has got hits for days... You don't really realize it until he's doing a live show and you then realize that you know the words to almost all of the songs he's singing.

I looked this video up on the interwebs cause for some odd reason whenever I go to my good friend Fred's house I always get shit-housed drunk and beg him to put this video on the T.V. so I can party and then KTFO whilst watching this on his couch! hahaha! Good times! Good times, just like this whole live set by the self proclaimed Pied-Piper of R&B.

Enjoy!

San Diego Comic-Con 2010

It's that time of year again folks! That's right the San Diego Comic-Con is back. It's a week full of comics, movies, video games, art, t.v., nerds, geeks and costumed weirdos! To be honest, nowadays it's more of a Pop Culture Convention than it is a Comic Convention. With the major studios and T.V. networks taking over the show floor at comic-con it's no surprise that Comic-Con International could be bolting for the L.A. area when their contract goes up in 2012 w/ the San Diego Convention Center. But we don't have to worry about that right.... cause the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012. Didn't you watch the movie?! hahaha!

I will be there for all 5 days going through the masses of un-bathed comic geeks looking for celebrities, free stuff and swag to sell on EBay! lol! I'm gonna try to get some pictures of the madness and post some up here. I'm only gonna take pictures of things that I wanna see though... Hot Chicks in CosPlay :

I have no idea what she's dressed as.... but really, does it matter?

Olivia Munn as Princess Leia

You gotta love how these broads take the most innocent things and Ho them up! It's like Halloween!

Butter face. But have you ever in your life seen a piece of fabric that looks like it just wants to give up??? BTW, she's smuggling raisins! hahahah!

Thats the STMTM! I'll see you at Comic-Con!!!

CoolVibe.com Digital Art & Inspiration

What is CoolVibe.com? I'll allow them to tell you in their own words about the site:
A digital art magazine showcasing digital art from all over the web (and everywhere else), be it science fiction, fantasy, illustrations, matte paintings, vector art, 3D renders and virtually everything else.
Best of all, we always show it in glorious HD resolution, which is the main reason for the minimalist design of the site — no fancy widgets (not even a sidebar!). It’s all about the content.

With the San Diego Comic-Con coming up in less than a week, I found this site for all you nerdy, geeky, sci-fi, fantasy, video game and art loving people out there. The site is a showcase for digital art from all over the interwebs. The site contains a lot of great art that you can easily turn into a great looking wallpaper for your computer. They also have a lot of concept art like 3-D art from current and future movies.

The size and resolution of the art samples pictured on this blog don't do the artwork justice. You have to go to the site and check it out for yourself to get the full effect of the content in HD resolution.

Here's a sample of some the art you'll find on the site:
 Darth Vader

Gears of War 3

Mirror's Edge

Digital Painting of Pene Menn

If you don't want to go scouring through the whole site looking for good stuff Here's a few links of some of my favorite images, art and wallpapers (other than the already pictured artwork above) from the site:

STMTM! Enjoy!

The Social Network Movie Trailer

You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.

A story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.

The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, Adventureland) and Justin Timberlake. The trailer looks good.
I especially like the cover of Radiohead's song Creep.

Not much to say, just that Social Networks seem to be a really, really big means of communication nowadays. Like 10-15 years ago, who would have thought that people would communicate more with their friends, family and even strangers more through social networks than in person or on the phone? 20 years ago we didn't even have the internet! The internet and technology in general has become such an important part of everyones lives that it's not surprising to me. I honestly interact with most of my friends more through Facebook and social networking sites than anywhere else. Sad, but true. It's a social commentary on where  technology is taking us to in the future.... SKYNET! hahahahaha! LOL!

Flashback Music Video: WC - The Streets

Music videos are a dying art. Yes, an art! In the 80's and 90's music videos were a way for music artists to portray their music onto a live canvas. I personally love watching a great music video. When you watch a great music video you actually get an insight into the thought, emotion, passion and genius that these artists put forth into making not only the video but also the song itself. Since media outlets like MTV, VH1 and the like are no longer strictly about music videos I think that the ART of the music video has now died. So, I'll be blogging some Music Video Flashbacks every now and then just to remind everyone of not only some great music, but some great music videos from the past. Enjoy!

I know this video isn't that old but it is still a West Coast classic in my book! It's got WC and Snoop C-Walking. Nate Dogg sangin' the hooks and even a cameo from Ice Cube!

C'mon now! Basic video premise: The Ghetto Olympics. Which includes the following events:

-Jumping fences
-C-Walking
-hair braiding
-tattooing
-low rider hydraulics jumping
-pimp walking
-making Kool-Aid
-rolling dice

Classic!!!

ESPN Mini-Documentary: Sippin' on some Sizzzuuurp

For those of you not in the know about Sizzurp AKA Lean, Syrup, Purple Drank, Playa Potion, Purple Stuff it's not just a song by Three 6 Mafia. Here's a ESPN Mini-Doc about Sizzurp and Pro Sports.

Although the use of Sizzurp is prevalent in the South (ie Texas) I don't think it's really caught on as a 'drug of choice' around the nation. If anything this Mini-Doc has just made Sizzurp a curiosity by putting it on a national (ESPN) spotlight. They showed me that I can go on Youtube.com and find a video on how to make Sizzurp. What's crazy is that you can make Sizzurp with stuff that you can probably find in your medicine cabinet. Just regular cough syrup that contains Codeine. Throw in some Sprite and Jolly Ranchers and you're good.

They mention a few pro-athletes that are suspected of doing Sizzurp but in all actuality none of them have been charged and/or their cases are still pending. One of the only pro athletes that has been charged with a Sizzurp related crime is the late Terence Kiel who played for the Chargers. He was charged with smuggling codeine across state lines but later died of allegedly driving under the influence.

I'm not really sure what this mini-doc hoped to bring to light but if they were trying to highlight that Sizzurp is something that could ruin lives, then all they would have to do is mention the late, great Pimp C of UGK. Pimp C died of an apparent Sizzurp overdose a few years ago. Looking forward to some kind of follow up story on this but I doubt there will be one.

Addendum: Just heard Jamarcus Russell recently got fingered for alledgedly possesion of a controlled substance. The substance being Codeine syrup. That guy is trying to supplant Ryan Leaf as the Biggest Bust EVER!!! hahahaha!

The Daily Motivator

I like to highlight my favorite and most frequented websites every now and then. Here is one of them.

The Daily Motivator is a brief motivational message that is published each Monday through Saturday on the web and by e-mail. Each daily message is about 200 words long and can easily be read in a minute or two.

Here's the link to the Daily motivator that doubles as a thought of the day and summary for the daily message.

I stumbled upon this site after following P. Diddy on Twitter. Yeah, I know lame way to find out about something. But in all honesty the only reason I even started a Twitter account was because of Diddy. Long story short, maybe a year or two ago my friends asked if I had a Twitter.
I said, "No I don't. The only way I'll sign up for Twitter is if P. Diddy has a Twitter account."
I just threw out Diddy's name cause I didn't know about Twitter and I didn't want to bother with making an account to a site that would probably fade from existence in a few months (boy was I wrong). I figured why would Diddy have a Twitter? Who knew? That Diddy was the celebrity with probably the most followers and someone who used it on a daily basis. So my friends checked if he had a Twitter and low and behold he did. And the rest is history.

OK, back to The Daily Motivator.

Diddy would occasionally post some quotes that were very motivational and a lot of them seemed to hit home for me. They would be quoted from @ralphmarston . I then took a look at Mr. Marston's Twitter and then found my way to his website.

It really wasn't until lately that I've actually looked into the site The Daily Motivator and discovered how helpful a few motivational words can be for the psyche. Cause God knows I personally need some motivation in my life right now!

Just a quick tip. This service is a pay service $15 a year. BUT the website is NOT! So for you cheap/broke people out there, like myself, just go to the site and set it as a favorite on your browser and simply check it every morning. Very simple. No money involved and you get a motivational message every morning to start your day off right. Enjoy!
